Sloth (ナマケモノ Namakemono?) is a three-toed sloth who becomes great friends with Polar Bear after Sasako helps bring him to Polar Bear's Cafe.

Appearance[]

Sloth has the classic sloth markings on his face, with tan-brown fur along with three large claws. He is mostly seen hanging on a branch, but will sometimes crawl in order to move independently.

Personality[]

Sloth can be slow on the uptake, but often will take things upon himself in order to be more independent (such as going to get additional refreshments for the cherry blossom viewing party or traveling to the hot springs himself without help).

He is willing to work and is hard-working but due to how slow he is he is, it takes him hours to do things that should take minutes. Sloth states in episode 35 that he wanted to work in order to treat Sasako to dinner since he feels bad that she is always helping him out while he is unable to do anything for her.

Sasako originally helped Sloth ask Polar Bear if he could live in the backyard of the cafe. After that, she's continued to help him by tidying up his living space and bringing him to the grocery store. Sasako feels indebted to Sloth since he was the reason why she is working at the cafe, and she finds being around him very relaxing.
